Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
75 class hours (= 56.25 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 180 hours (equivalent to 6 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 123.75 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
_Practical structural design topics will be dealt with based on Module 5.3.
 
After successfully completing this module, students will be familiar with practical building constructions for more simple tasks in cost-effective timber construction.
 
They will _be familiar with basic structural solutions in modern timber construction and be able to integrate requirements from the areas of structural design, climate protection and comfort into their designs.

Module content:
_Lectures and tutorials with a focus on structural design in timber construction.
 
_Development of simple 2-3 storey buildings in timber construction.
 
_Practical building construction topics will be dealt with.
 
_Differentiation of basic structural principles of load transfer in primary and secondary structures in panes, supports, load-bearing and non-load-bearing shells. _Development of simple load-bearing systems in timber construction, such as frame or skeleton frame construction and design-related details for all essential elements such as roof, terrace, balcony, loggia and interior finishing with stairs.
