Learning outcomes:
The aim of this module is to teach students basic and practical skills. Eco-friendly construction and the basics of building law, in particular. These topics will be studied in parallel during the 3rd academic year of this program. Building Planning Law: After successfully completing this module, students will be familiar with public and private building law in preparation for the legal side of an architect´s work. Eco-Friendly Construction 2: targets essential innovative, architectural, ecological and energy-related changes in planning. Energy-conscious building planning requires a holistic concept. Teaching will be oriented towards practical planning tasks. Students will develop their skills and competences further by way of the interdisciplinary connections in a more complex project. The goal is to rasie awareness for the importance of the use of energy and resource-efficient strategies in building design.

Module content:
Eco-Friendly Construction The tutorial is based on the planning phases of a project. Students will work on their project right up to work planning and the details, divided into two processing phases: Identification and analysis, development of alternative concepts, demonstration of possible solutions for the load-bearing, cladding and water supply and drainage systems. Constructive elaboration, development of project sub-areas, optimization and evaluation by means of variants, elaboration of the final details. The Basics of Building Law: BGB as legal basis in the FRG, clarification and obligations of the law on contracts for work and services, contracts, structure and limits according to BGB and VOB, fee schedule for architects and engineers, HOAI contents and application The Basics of Public Building Law: Functional zoning, building code, state building regulations, structure and tools Building supervision executive, building inspection authorities, approval procedures according to state building law, content and procedure of land and property concept, land readjustment, land register
