Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
75 class hours (= 56.25 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 180 hours (equivalent to 6 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 123.75 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this moduel, students will be able to develop buildings of medium complexity methodically, analytically and creatively and concretize them in a conceptual design, based on their basic knowledge of building construction and structural design.
 
They will be familiar with the basic principles of urban planning analysis and design and can place their building design within an urban context.
 
The general objective is to become aware of the social relevance of the designed environment and to raise awareness for the responsible use of its elements and forms of expression, as well as human needs.

Module content:
Dealing with urban and socio-cultural context and a simple building program in a contemporary setting. The typological and constructive presentation of a creative and functional design solution using appropriate media.
 
Our focus will be on the development of approaches to solutions for apartments, residential buildings, living environments and the networked design of interior and exterior spaces.
 
Urban planning analysis, concept development and elaboration with a focus on the follwoing aspects: urban context, socio-cultural context, functional and atmospheric implementation.
