<objectives>After successfully completing this module, students will:
_	be familiar with structural solutions for existing buildings, especially for post-war modernist buildings. 
_	be familiar with structural and energy-related repair, upgrading and improvement measures for supporting structures, building envelope and interior finishing.
_	be able to identify a catalog of structural measures from as-built surveys and functional specifications and combine them with their own design concept.

<content>_	Lectures and exercises with a focus on the structural design of existing buildings.
_	Structural and energy-efficient refurbishment of existing buildings or existing ensembles with a focus on post-war modernism.
_	Practice-oriented differentiation of the conceptual implementation of load transfer to structural principles such as primary and secondary construction, load-bearing and non-load-bearing components, shells and extensions. Historical constructions with attention to technical detail solutions, in particular filigree reinforced concrete / reinforced concrete components, masonry, floor and wall constructions, sealing of buildings, windows and doors, finishing constructions
