Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will: _ have basic knowledge about European art, architecture, urban and cultural history from early times to the present, as well as basic knowledge regarding the prinicples of scientific work and the methodology of art history. _ will be able to grasp and analyze architecture and works of related artistic disciplines, beyond an ordinary understanding of style, as an expression of their respective times, and will be able to understand art and building history as a stimulus for their own design work. Personal competence: _ Ability to find and use literature independently _ Ability to process content independently _ The students´ judgement will be trained

Module content:
Chronological presentation of the historical development of art and architecture as a cultural achievement within a western civilization process. Art and Architectural History 1: _ Architecture and works of related artistic disciplines from early times to the 19th century will be introduced and analyzed. Art and Architectural History 2: _ Architecture and the works of related artistic disciplines from the 19th century to the present will be introduced and analyzed.
