MAA-2.x.8 Architecture, Master, ASPO 01.10.2012 , semester 1, mandatory course
Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
30 class hours (= 22.5 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 90 hours (equivalent to 3 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 67.5 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Based on a basic understanding of objects and space, students will be able to develop living concepts for changing social needs.
After successfully completing this module, they will have acquired analytical, typological and constructive knowledge and be able to translate this into creative design concepts.
 
Students will be able to translate ways of life and social expression into the language of architecture and communicate them appropriately.

Module content:
Study and analysis of the current European housing stock under the following aspects:
·  social hotspots in rural and urban structures
·  horizontally and vertically dense residential construction
·  flexibility, new household forms and temporary housing
·  flexibility, new types of construction and materials
·  living and working
Benchmarks are living environment, living space, product and detail
