<objectives>Submodule: Performance I
After successfully completing this submodule, students will be able to carry out a performance calculation for individual flight phases. They will be able to calculate these correctly using the aircraft mass, pressure altitude and air temperature and then transfer them to the individual phases.

Submodule: Flight Planning I
After successfully completing this submodule, students will be able to plan a flight according to visual flight rules (VFR).
They will be able to use the navigational aids available and calculate flight times and fuel consumption, taking into account the maximum permitted take-off/landing weights and the type-specific performance data for the selected flight path.

Submodule: Navigation I
After successfully completing this submodule, students will be able to navigate an aircraft safely and correctly according to visual flight rules using aeronautical charts and radio navigational aids.
Students will be able to explain the shape of the earth and the different time zones.
They will be able to calculate a course with the help of a chart, as well as permanent course determination via Dead Reckoning Navigation.
