<objectives>• After successfully completing this module, students will be able to define the functions of German and international air traffic, name the legal foundations and the micro and macro-economic risks of air traffic operations
• They will be able to describe the economic, social and political functions of air transport and illustrate their effects on the development of commercial air transport
• Students will be able to name the various products offered by commercial air transport and present strategy, branding and pricing
• Students will be able to evaluate the development of demand for air transport products and make adjustments.
• They will be able to link the numerous practical examples with the theoretical content of the module and link them to the activities and tasks of an air traffic manager.
• Students will be able to describe current organizational developments and trends in air transport, analyze their impact on the future development of aviation and apply the results.

2. Importance of air traffic, in Germany and in the world
3. Social function of air traffic
4. Products of commercial air traffic
5. Scheduled and non-scheduled air traffic
6. Air freight
7. The role of airports
8. The demand side of the air transport system
9. The module ends with a discussion of current organizational developments and trends in commercial air transport. Special emphasis will be placed on post-corona developments.
