Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module students will be able to: - apply quantitative methods of transport and material flow planning - describe the technical structure of warehouses - assess the applicability of different order picking methods - select a type of packaging depending on a specific product and apply common site-planning procedures In addition, students will be able to: - explain the importance of inventories and their costs for the company - independently analyze stocks by using inventory KPIs and ABC/XYZ methods. - confidently use terms such as optimal order quantity, order cycle, reorder point, safety stock and stock at disposal - identify, evaluate and select quantitative inventory models for constant, dynamic and stochastic demand patterns and select a model according to context - determine safety stock levels depending on service level
