Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
60 class hours (= 45 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 150 hours (equivalent to 5 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 105 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will:
 
- be familiar with the main provisions of individual labor law and the
  core provisions of social security law.
- be able to relate them to the establishment, performance and termination of
  employment relationships.
- be familiar with the basic principles of collective labor law and understand its
  function for the cooperation between employers and
  and employee representative bodies.
- be able to deal independently with legal texts, understand the hierarchy of standards and
  the significance of the set of standards for operational practice.
- be able to develop solutions for specific cases by classifying the problem, subsuming the facts under the characteristics of the relevant regulations and deriving the result from them.
- be able to review the results based on general legal value judgements.
