Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
60 class hours (= 45 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 180 hours (equivalent to 6 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 135 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will:
_ be able to independently design a road from the preliminary planning stage to the detailed design using standard software (CARD/1).
_ be able to use computers in a practice-oriented manner and work in a team.
_ be able to scientifically apply their knowledge to new, unfamiliar situations and in interdisciplinary projects.

Module content:
_ Students will participate in a model project in which a road is designed incl. interdisciplinary tasks. They must independently work out and explain the planning stages for their road design, including the civil engineering aspects according to RE, using the CAD program CARD/1.
_ The project comprises the following: design in terms of position, height, cross-section and structure, as well as the associated bill of quantities and the cost calculations according to AKS.
