Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
60 class hours (= 45 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 180 hours (equivalent to 6 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 135 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Learning outcomes/skills - Music Practice (2 hours per semester week):
 
•        After successfully completing this module, students will have insight into preparing and planning music events.
•        They will be able to contribute to the planning and execution of such events.
 
Learning outcomes/skills - Instrument and Score Studies (2 hours per semester week):
 
After successfully completing this module, students will have learned the basics of how to read scores from 1500 to 1950. They will be able to communicate with professional musicians in the workplace by having mastered the important technical terms from the field of instrument and score studies. They will be familiar with the basic phenomena of acoustics, insofar as this is a prerequisite for understanding the structure and functionality of the most important traditional European musical instruments.

Acoustics, basics of traditional score notation, organology, in-depth study of score reading from a historical perspective.
