Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
The total student study time for this course is 900 hours.

Learning outcomes:
Within a given period of maximum 6 months, students will work on a clearly defined task with high practical relevance and a high level of complexity in a goal and result-oriented manner in independent cooperation with a practice partner or within the framework of a research project. They will document their results in either German or English and present and discuss them in a colloquium.
 
The Master´s thesis is an integral part of the Master’s degree program, as well as a component of the Master’s examination. The Master´s thesis is the final thesis.

Module content:
Compared to a diploma thesis, the Master’s thesis is characterized by a high practical relevance and a higher level of complexity. The thesis will - if possible - be worked on and written together with an industry partner or within the framework of a research project. In it, the skills and knowledge acquired in all subject areas are to be applied to a concrete task. The maximum duration for the Master’s thesis is 6 months. It can be written in both German or English in consultation with the thesis supervisor.
