After successfully completing this part of the module, students will be familiar with the structure and function of memory chips and how a microprocessor works.
They will be familiar with the structure and operation of a microcontroller and its peripheral components and will be able to create simple, hardware-related programs in assembler and the high-level language C. They will be able to explain the hardware and software in detail with regard to their interaction using examples.
1. The structure of a 8051 processor
1.1. Block diagram, housing, pin assignment
1.2. Clock generator, Reset
1.3. CPU and register structure
1.4. Memory organization, internal and external program memory and data memory
1.5. System bus and input/output ports
1.6. Structure of a minimum system
2. Programming a 8051 processor
2.1. Programming languages
2.2. Command structure
2.3. Addressing modes
2.4. Command types and command overview
3. Assembler programming
3.1. The structure of programs
3.2. Program examples
4. Interrupts
5. Digital input/output
6. Timer/counter
7. Serial interface
8. Additions to the Infineon C515C
8.1. Interrupt system and ports
8.2. Serial interface
