Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
The total student study time for this course is 210 hours.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will be able to conduct security analyses for companies/properties and develop security concepts based on these analyses. This also includes the in-depth ability to assess dangerous situations that could arise or have already arisen as a result of sudden events or actions by third parties inside or outside the company, and to propose or take action on one´s own initiative to avert danger. In addition, students will also be able to establish and operate effective crisis management within the company. In doing so, students will apply what they have learned in module MSSM 220.
 
- Students will be able to develop safety concepts for temporary open-air events such as concerts, public viewing, city festivals, parades, etc., after learning about and applying all relevant laws and regulations. They will be familiar with all the functions, organizations, offices, and authorities that need to be involved in each individual case and will be able to ensure their active and legally compliant cooperation. In particular, they will be able to evaluate external service providers in this field and justify or reject their commissioning in a qualified manner.

Module content:
- With regard to companies or stationary objects  
   - Expert assessment of the current situation
   - Alternative courses of action in the event of major hazards, incidents, and   
     disasters
   - Assessment of threat situations
   - Risk assessment by estimating the probability of occurrence and the   
     potential extent of damage
   - Tools for risk management
   - Technical and organizational security concepts
   - Crisis management team: Tasks, structure and work
 
- With regard to the safety of temporary events
   - Points to consider when planning events, e.g.   
     Fire safety, safety of event technology (lighting, sound, open   
     flames), ensuring panic-free flow of people   
    (entrance/exit cross-sections) with evacuation plan,   
     calculation of emergency personnel and deployment plan for security and medical services,
     noise protection, youth and child protection, ensuring communication   
     between all security personnel, including police and fire department.
   - Creation of plans, e.g. for outdoor facilities (e.g. stands, stages),   
     seating, escape and rescue (fire brigade deployment, traffic plan, if necessary  
     helicoper landing pad).
