Symposium 2025 „NACHHALTIG statt weiter so !!!” (“SUSTAINABLE instead of business as usual!!!”) Hello, Together with the htw saar, Faculty of Social Sciences, and other partners, we are organizing various networking meetings from November 13th to 17th, 2025, as part of continuing education and training, as well as the 2025 symposium “SUSTAINABLE instead of business as usual!!!” on November 13th and 14th. This year´s theme for 2025 ties in with the previous annual themes of the VPSA e.V. and deepens the perspective of sustainability in the social sector. The imminent and ongoing transformation in the social sector requires ethical guidance. The VPSA Boulevard will take place in parallel with specialist lectures and discussions on November 13, 2025. At the VPSA Boulevard, a wide range of opportunities, social institutions and services can introduce themselves and speak with students, social work professionals, and other representatives from the field. On November 14, 2026, organizations, institutions, and welfare associations have the opportunity to offer visits/workshops/tours of their facilities, social services, etc. where the topic of the symposium can be addressed in a variety of ways. In recent years, society has repeatedly faced new challenges. Whether it was the global economic and financial crisis of 2008/2009 or armed conflicts causing corresponding migration movements, as in 2015/2016, or the current economic crisis caused by the brutal war of aggression in Europe. Social challenges are constantly increasing, especially in light of demographic changes. The need to restructure energy supply and move toward renewable energies highlights the critical moments that different societies must face. What do these societal challenges mean for social work? What about sustainability and participation? How does this manifest itself in the everyday work of social services, institutions, and organizations? In this context, the focus is particularly on the Greater Region and German-speaking countries due to their mobility and close networks. Further information can be found on the homepage: https://www.vpsa-ev.de/fachtag-2025 For the first time this year, video messages were created for the events. https://www.vpsa-ev.de/ank%C3%BCndigungsvideos-des-vpsa-zum-fachtag-2025 In order to hold such events, we rely on the support of sponsors. We would be delighted if you could support our network meeting and symposium. Donations can be transferred to the following VPSA e.V. (Vereinigung der Profession Soziale Arbeit e.V.) donation account at BBBank with the reference “Fachtag 2025”: IBAN: DE88660908000003880885 BIC: GENODE61BBB We are available to answer any questions you may have.
