Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will: • recognize and understand the principles underlying emissions and their environmental impact, • recognize and understand the principles and contexts of public participation in environmentally relevant planning processes, • be able to identify and classify the influence of emissions on environmental media, • be able to organize and implement public participation processes responsibly.

Environmental assessment/environmental impact study • Structure, procedure and methods of an environmental assessment (screening, scoping, beteiligung) • Presenting and preparing an environmental impact study • Evaluation procedures and methods • Quantitative assessment methods of environmental aspects • Measures for mitigating or solving problems Society: Participation/public participation procedures/public relations work • Function and benefits of participation • Legal foundation for participation • Participants and affected parties (players or stakeholders) and their role in the planning process • Participation methods and procedures • Mediating and moderating planning processes • Evaluating planning processes
