Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
75 class hours (= 56.25 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 180 hours (equivalent to 6 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 123.75 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
Building Typology 1:
After successfully completing this part of the module, students will:
_        have basic knowledge about user requirements and building functions, such as public areas, access systems and functional room allocations.
 
Building Typology 2:
After successfully completing this part of the module, students will:
_        have increased their knowledge about overall spatial structure based on exemplary buildings of a more complex design, function, internal structure and external conditions.
_        have knowledge about building theory based on traditional and contemporary architecture.
_        be able to differentiate buildings with regard to their functional and site-related design and examine them typologically.
_        be able to recognize correlations between the nature, type and design of buildings, analyze them and implement them in concrete and abstract design tasks.
 
Personal competence:
_        Develop and train basic architectural language competence.
_        Ability to process content independently
_        Train analytical skills
_        Train the ability to present results in analogue and digital form.

Building Typology 1:
_        Basics that are essential for the function of buildings.
_        Buildings of low and medium complexity.
 
Building Typology 2:
_        Buildings with complex designs, functions and networks.
_        Analysis of essential typologies and their evaluation against the background of contemporary developments, new technologies and social change.
