Applicability / Curricular relevance:
All study programs (with year of the version of study regulations) containing the course.

DBMAB-120 (P720-0016) Mechanical Engineering / Production Technology, Bachelor, ASPO 01.10.2021 , study year 1, mandatory course
DBMAB-120 (P720-0016) Mechanical Engineering / Production Technology, Bachelor, ASPO 01.10.2024 , study year 1, mandatory course
Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
The total student study time for this course is 150 hours.
Recommended prerequisites (modules):
DBMAB-110 Mathematics for Industrial Engineers 1

[updated 13.03.2023]
Recommended as prerequisite for:
Module coordinator:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Christoph Gaukler
Lecturer: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan Christoph Gaukler

[updated 11.06.2021]
Learning outcomes:

After successfully completing this module, students will be familiar with mathematical computational techniques and be able to apply them to individual mathematical problems. These calculation techniques will also be applied to examples from physics and technology. Students will be able to apply second-order linear differential equations in vibration theory. They will be able to apply the chain rule in forming partial derivatives of functions in several variables and calculate partial derivatives - even for implicit functions. Students will have mastered the arithmetic operations of matrices and be able to apply arithmetic rules for determinants. They will be able to solve linear systems of equations according to the Gaussian algorithm.
