Learning outcomes:
After completing this module, students will: - have been introduced to the structure of the Unix operating systems and its underlying concepts; - have gained proficiency in using the standard Unix editor Vvi (or vim) and a shell; - will have acquired a detailed understanding of the most important Unix tools and will know how to apply them; - be able to analyse problems; - be able to select the necessary tools to solve the problem and be capable of implementing the solution as a shell or Perl script.
