Workload:
Workload of student for successfully completing the course. Each ECTS credit represents 30 working hours. These are the combined effort of face-to-face time, post-processing the subject of the lecture, exercises and preparation for the exam.

The total workload is distributed on the semester (01.04.-30.09. during the summer term, 01.10.-31.03. during the winter term).
60 class hours (= 45 clock hours) over a 15-week period.
The total student study time is 150 hours (equivalent to 5 ECTS credits).
There are therefore 105 hours available for class preparation and follow-up work and exam preparation.

Learning outcomes:
After successfully completing this module, students will:
 
- be able to describe the most important frameworks and theoretical foundations of IT management and
- evaluate the IT management methods they have become familiar with.
- be able to characterize the basic tasks involved in project management, esp. in IT projects, and
- be able to apply project management methods, techniques and tools in a targeted manner, taking into account necessary sociological and communication aspects.
- be able to explain the individual phases of the knowledge cycle.
 
After successfully participating in this module, students will be able to independently carry out IT management tasks during their project work by doing the following:
 
- Participating in various roles within the project.
- Applying acquired methods of knowledge management, IT project management and IT management to specific projects,
- Putting their own IT system (e.g. CMS) into operation,
- Reflecting upon and discussing their role-specific views.

- Reference models: ITIL, CobiT, CMMI
- IT risk management
- IT project management
- Process models: Waterfall model, Spiral model, V-Modell XT
- Agile project management
- Knowledge cycle
- Relevant application software (e.g. MS Project, WordPress)

Teaching methods/Media:
Lecture with integrated exercises, cases studies and project work in small groups of 3 to 5 students: Students will work independently on PCs to solve specific IT management, knowledge and project management tasks using the appropriate application software and IT systems. Project results will be recorded in writing and presented by the small groups.
 
This course will be conducted using e-learning support.
