Learning outcomes:
This seminar provides an introduction to the different (socio-)pedagogical paradigms and concepts of migration-related social work. After successfully completing this module, students will be able to: - explain the paradigms and concepts relevant to migration-related social work - and assess their influence on the fields of social work and education - critically differentiate between current concepts of social work, education and upbringing - and transfer them to the challenges of a migration society, - adopt a professional attitude towards socio-educational and structural concepts in the migration society - independently develop migration-related concepts for fields of social work.

Module content:
- Historical overview of (social) pedagogical paradigms and concepts of migration-related social work since 1960. - Introduction and consolidation of these concepts with reference to the (socio-)pedagogical references in the context of the development of the migration society in the Federal Republic of Germany. - Introduction to the conceptual development of social work methods of action in the current migration society context. - Application of these references to case specifics of social work.
